Big Wave Babes Water Women Retreats

Become a more experienced water woman by training with us on the famous North Shore of Oahu! This week-long, all-inclusive retreat will give you the tools to train mentally and physically like a big wave surfer, push yourself in “bigger” waves, and be an asset in the water. While we will be surfing, the main focus of this retreat is giving you the tools and resources to charge! You do not need to be a “big wave” surfer to attend, you only need to have a basic foundation of surf skills.

The Accommodations

Stay at a beautiful, modern, ocean-front home on one acre of land overlooking the famous Waimea Bay. The house includes 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. Private and shared rooms are available. Each room features super comfy beds, tasteful decor, AC, and high-speed WiFi. There’s a comfortable living space with a big screen TV where we’ll do our surf coaching, a full kitchen and dining area to enjoy meals together, and an expansive lawn to do yoga, workouts and relax in the hammock.

What to Expect

  • Surf-Specific Training

    Improve your surf technique, body mechanics, and breathing by training with our experienced surf coaches. Training sessions will include dynamic stretching, foundation training, a customized workout, carve-boarding to train surf muscle memory, in-water coaching, as well as video coaching post-session.

  • Surf Sessions

    May is considered the shoulder season for Oahu, but there will likely still be plenty of fun waves! While the waves might not be XL, they will be perfect to practice technique and have fun. Everyday we will assess the conditions and go to the best break. We can also divide the group up by levels and desires.

  • Water Rescue and CPR with Experienced First Responder

    Learn water rescue techniques and CPR from a North Shore first responder with over 20 years of experience. You will learn how to do basic water rescue using a surfboard. You will also learn CPR and emergency first aid.

  • Daily Yoga Classes

    Relax the mind and body with daily restorative yoga. These yoga classes will be a time to slow down and recover which is just as important as surfing and working out.

  • Mindset Exercises

    Training your mind is just as important as training your body. Every day we will do a different mindset exercise to overcome fears and gain confidence.

  • Breath Hold Training

    Learn how to improve your breath hold in a safe environment. We will practice static and dynamic breath holds on land, in the pool, and in the ocean. We will also practice rock running and a variety of in-water exercises.
